  FABIO REY
FABIO" Fabio backed by Ubaldo De Lio (Tango Real)

FABIO REY debuted as a regular on national television in Argentina when he was 6 years old (he was literally singing Tango before he could talk!) Argentinos actually watched him grow up on TV over the last 20 years.

This Porteño definately sings Tango Tango in the true style with a fresh voice.

Download Fabio "live" clip

When Fabio sings, you hear a true message from the heart of Tango. The voice thrills and the music inspires. Now 26, and at home on the stage or before the camera, Fabio can stand in front of you and do it... reproduce exactly his recorded performances. And sing always with the power and emotion you might only expect from a singer born in the Golden years of the Tango.

A seasoned theatre performer, FABIO was lead actor/singer with Juan Carlos Copes, the Tony-nominated artistic creator of Broadway's Tango Argentino. Fabio began travelling the world with the Copes company when still a child. But he was no novelty act. Fabio has always been special to tango people, who love his complete, mature talents. His biggest role in English was as co-star with August Schellenberg (Free Willy) in Copes' "A Rose For Mr. Tango" in Toronto when he was only 15. During that five month run, the Canadian Government hired FABIO to sing for President Bush's visit at the American Ambassador's residence - a typical Tango evening for FABIO, musical director Roberto Pansera (below left, together on the set of "A Rose"), Copes and Maria Nieves while on tour.

FABIO is personally charming, near sensational as a vocalist, young, handsome and smart. A porteño (native of the Buenos Aires Tango culture), he understands mystery, passion and life in the way only a gifted artist born into the heart of the culture intuitively does. Add to that a life steeped in the Tango tradition at the highest level of performance since birth, and encouragement in his career path by giants of Tango including: Copes, Osvaldo Pugliese, Jorge Valdez, Roberto "Chocho" Florio and Roberto Rufino (left-to-right below) and orchestra leaders such as Alfredo DeAngelis and Hector Varela and you have a genuine star acknowledged by the Tango creative community. (Maestro Pugliese (bottom right in 1986) had engaged Fabio to be his vocalist when his health finally gave out).

He performed live and was featured in the film (now on video) "Tango In A Cold City" (National Film Board of Canada - 2000).

For people who know and love Argentine Tango music, FABIO's powerful and authentic singing style will take your breath away.
