"The Sea"
Author: Simona Gandrabur
Composer: Ioana Gandrabur
- Adaptation of
"Julia Florida" de Agustín Barrios Mangoré (1884-1944)
Oh, take me back to see the sea,
That's where I always long to be,
To feel the wind caress my skin,
And watch the waves day out, day in.
Oh, take me back to see the sea,
To feel the sand under my feet,
To breathe its salty, sensual smells
Searching for treasures - rocks and shells.
Oh, take me back to see the sea,
The sand, my skin, so charged with heat,
To watch the subtle change of light,
Each morning, day, evening and night.
...
There, where never two waves
Are ever the same
Yet still alike
And where the soft passage of time
Never leaves harsh marks behind.
There, where every wave
Erases all traces
Along the shore,
They'll wash away all trace of time
And I'll be young once more.
...
Oh, take me back to see the sea,
To close my eyes and start to dream,
To watch the orange moon arise
And fall asleep under the stars.
Oh, take me back to see the sea,
To let myself be rocked to sleep,
Hearing the soothing lullaby -
The sound of waves - soft like a sigh.
Oh, take me back to see the sea,
Where every little part of me,
Felt so alive, so full, so free,
That's where I always long to be.
With you.
