"Mirror, Mirror on the Wall"

Author: Simona Gandrabur

The day's been long and I feel torn.
My car broke down, my boss's scorn,
The kids got sick and work piles up,
I even broke my favourite cup!

Yet when
The late night's silence settles in
I look at you, you hold my chin,
That's when
I get my best tonic of all,
I ask my mirror on the wall:

"Please, tell me everything's all right
'cause we're together... and besides
we aged from outside and within as beautifully as a violin."

...

You are my mirror on the wall
'Cause when I look into your eyes,
I see your love, I see it all,
And I can hear your heart reply:

"For me, my love,
You are the fairest one of all!"
That's what I hear each time I ask
My mirror, mirror on the wall.

"For me, For me..." in those two words,
lies all the difference in the world.
It's neither vanity, nor greed,
Your heart's reply is all I need.

...

The years may pass and we'll grow old,
When cycling, I won't be as bold,
Forget that sexy carmine dress,
My hair will always be a mess.

Who cares for wrinkles and grey hair
And people no longer finding me fair,
In slippers or in dancing shoes,
I know it's me that you will choose.

As long as deep inside I feel
As beautiful and just as real
As the reflection in your eyes,
That's where the magic youth-well lies.

...

You are my mirror on the wall
'Cause when I look into your eyes,
I see your love, I see it all,
And I can hear your heart's reply:

"For me, my love,
You are the fairest one of all!"
That's what I hear each time I ask
My mirror, mirror on the wall.

"For me, For me..." in those two words,
lies all the difference in the world.
It's neither vanity, nor greed,
Your heart's reply is all I need.
