"The Day That You Disappeared"

Author: Simona Gandrabur -
Homage to Mihai Eminescu (1850-1889) and his poem "Si daca"
Composer: Simona Gandrabur

The day that you disappeared
Inside the endless shadow
My secret love, my tender dear,
I drowned in waves of sorrow.

But nobody can know my pain,
I've got to mourn in silence,
I'll never feel that joy again,
My smiles are just appearance.

The only ones who understand,
Who ease my weary mind
Are just the gentle summer-wind,
The moon and stars so kind.

...

And if the night-wind gently blows
And makes the poplars shiver
I dream of you being so close
And holding you forever.

And if the lake's depths are lit
By tender star-light kisses,
My body's pain it is soothed a bit
As it you reminisces.

If heavy clouds are blown apart
Releasing silver moon-rays,
Then shines your image in my heart
That's longing for you - always.
